Holiday traditions are the moments we look forward to year after year. From decorating the tree and baking family recipes to watching favorite holiday movies, these traditions bring family and friends together and help create lasting memories. If you're looking for a fun new tradition to add to the season, a holiday game night is a simple way to bring everyone around the table for laughter, connection, and a little friendly competition.
The best traditions are the ones everyone expects and gets excited about. Choose a regular moment during the holiday season, whether it's the evening before a holiday, after a festive meal, or during a weekend family gathering.
By setting aside a dedicated time, holiday game night quickly becomes something family members look forward to year after year.
One of the best things about a card game night is how easy it is to bring everyone together. A deck of cards can entertain multiple generations, making it a great activity for grandparents, parents, teens, and kids alike.
Choose games that are easy to learn and fun to play such as Spoons, War, Pig, Slap Jack or Crazy 8’sThe goal is simply to pick something quick, light, and fun so everyone can jump in, share a few laughs, and enjoy the time together.
The food's been cleared, someone's pulled up their favorite chair, and nobody wants to be the first to call it a night. There's a comeback to settle, a winner who's getting a little too comfortable, "one more hand" turns into five, and no one has checked their phone in hours. This is the stuff that sticks: being there together long enough for the night to become a story.
The most memorable holiday traditions don't have to be elaborate or expensive. Sometimes all you need is a deck of cards, a few favorite snacks, and the people you love gathered around the table.
This holiday season, why not start a game night tradition of your own? Shuffle the deck, deal the cards, and enjoy an evening filled with laughter, connection, and friendly competition.
